报告人简介:
Dr. Yu received her B.S. in Environmental Chemistry from Nanjing University in China, her MS in Physical Chemistry from the University of Montana, and PhD in Atmospheric Chemistry from the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 1996. After two post-doctoral stints at the UNC-Chapel Hill and California Institute of Technology, she joined the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology in 1999, where she is now a Professor of Chemistry and Environment. She is also the Director of Environmental Central Facility at HKUST.
Her main research interests are the development of analytical methods for airborne organic compounds, atmospheric chemistry of various chemical compounds, chemical characterization of source and ambient aerosols for source apportionment and health effects studies, and kinetic modeling of gas-phase and multi-phase atmospheric reactions. Analytical techniques she and her group have developed have been adopted and used in many laboratories in the field of atmospheric chemical measurements. Her laboratory is a frequent provider for the analytical work for the PM2.5 monitoring network in Hong Kong set up by the Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department.
She has published 140+ peer-reviewed scientific papers, with over 6,700 citations and an h index of 49. She is currently serving or served as an associate editor for Atmospheric Environment (Elsevier), Environmental Chemistry (CSIRO publishing, Australia), and Atmospheric Research (Elsevier).
